Employer Sponsored Visas

An employer sponsored visa allows Australian employers to sponsor skilled individuals to help serve their business needs. It allows individuals from another country to reside in Australia. Temporary Work Short Stay Specialist visa (subclass 400)

The individual is supported by a business on a temporary, short-term basis to assist in a specific project in a high-specialised area. The sponsored individual needs to be competent in the field and possess specialist skills to undertake the work. The visa duration is usually 3-6 months and can be renewed in some cases. Temporary Activities / Australian Government Endorsed Events visa (subclass 408)

This temporary visa allows an individual to come to Australia to participate in events endorsed by the Australian Government. There are various options for offshore and onshore applicants. At the moment, there are many individuals on this visa that are supporting the Australia’s COVID-19 rehabilitation programs. The visa applicant remains in Australia for the duration of the event – typically no longer than 4 years. Click here for more information.

Temporary Skill Shortage visa (subclass 482)

This temporary visa enables employers to address labour shortages by employing foreign workers where employers cannot source Australian workers. There are more than 500 occupations to choose from and the applicants must have the relevant skills in the listed occupation to be eligible. There are many elements to this visa, and they differ for each employer and with each industry. The visa applicant remains in Australia for 2 to 5 years, depending on the circumstances. Training visa (subclass 407)

This is a temporary visa that allows the applicant to complete workplace-based training or professional development training. The individuals is available for full-time work and on the job training. The visa duration is typically 12 months with possibility to renew it or apply for another visa. Click here for more information.

Permanent Residency (Skilled Regional) visa (subclass 191)

Available from November 2022 This visa allows individuals who have lived and worked in particular regional areas of Australia to live and work permanently. There are certain criteria you need to meet in order to be eligible for this visa. Click here for more information.
